Women are different from men -- so is a husband different from a wife.
Through the course of time in any family relationship, we have a thought that our wife or husband is not listening to us, hence we tend to seek attention by having control over them or showing weird behaviors etc...
However, you will never be able to change your husband/wife into a new person just like you. So criticizing, nagging, and lecturing will not help.
Both men and women have inherent talents, hobbies, interests, strengths, and weaknesses, which, when combined in godly wedlock where both walk in divine love, produce something stronger than any individual.
One of the most helpful things in a marriage is to practice "not returning evil for evil". It is certain that offenses will come, that you will get hurt too, when that happens, you have a choice: do I lash back and hurt them, or, do I walk in love. Mother's love can be an example.... always do good expecting nothing in return.
God's instructions for both the partners are for their own good and protection. However, at times we are filled with doubt and disobedience, but your choice should be to trust in God to direct your husband/wife wisely.
Your partner might genuinely be wanting to make you happy -- probably just does not know "how". Help them to understand what you want without nagging or putting down, explain what your expectations are.
In this busy work, we lack to find quality time with our partner; hence, understanding each other will also differ. Accept life as it comes... trusting in God and loving your partner, set an example to your children with good values.

It is an apt message for husband n wife interms of understanding each other.
